School Paper Advisers Mr. Mark Reniel Balolo (English) and Mrs. Myra Jaime (Filipino) accompanied the contestants during the three-day event.
“I’m very proud of my writers and the talents that they have. Winning awards in the next level will just be a bonus for me, because the learning process is what’s more important to hone them to become better writers and parts of the community,” Mr. Balolo said.
The winning writers of “The Quantum” (English Publication) and “Ang Liwanag” (Filipino Publication) will compete in the National Capital Region Secondary Schools Press Confererence (NCRSSPC), to be held on October at Aurora Quezon Elementary School in Manila.
Meanwhile, PaScians also seized top positions in the Pasay City Editors Guild. Dave Gerobin led the way, winning the President position. Vlad Paradela landed as the Vice President of Finance; and Romelito Bolanos snagged the Secretary post. Mrs. Myra Jaime was also named the President of the Pasay City Secondary School Paper Advisers Guild.
“It’s a great opportunity and honor for me to be elected as the President, and I’m very thankful of it. It will serve a chance for me and my colleagues to know and tell the things happening not just in our schools, but also in our city,” Gerobin expressed after winning.
